Who it's for

Local Visibility Scorecard is for local home-service businesses and the people who run their marketing.

The business

A local home-service business sells work that is tied to a place: plumbing, HVAC, roofing, electrical, pest control, garage doors, landscaping, restoration, cleaning, and similar trades. A customer searches, asks an AI system, compares a few names, and chooses.

If the business depends on being found when someone nearby needs the work, this framework was written for it.

The marketer or analyst

In-house marketers, local agencies, consultants, and analysts use it when they need a repeatable second opinion instead of another keyword spreadsheet. The framework is useful for:

  • a pre-engagement diagnostic before a local SEO or GEO proposal;
  • a quarterly visibility check against a locked query universe;
  • a competitive gap analysis for a multi-service contractor;
  • a client conversation about why a strong website is not being discovered;
  • a boundary document that separates discovery from profile quality and conversion.

Not a fit

  • SaaS, e-commerce, and national brands with mature analytics teams.
  • Businesses looking for a guaranteed revenue lift.
  • Businesses that want an automated fix. The scorecard diagnoses; it does not remediate.
  • Anyone who wants a single "AI visibility score" without provenance. This framework deliberately separates mentions, recommendations, citations, and source types.
  • Anyone who wants a rank tracker. Ranks are inputs, not the outcome.

What the business has to be willing to do

The audit asks the owner for data the public web cannot provide: Search Console clicks, qualified organic leads, AI referrals, priority services by gross profit, and revenue concentration. None of those questions reduce the public score. They exist to turn a visibility diagnosis into a business decision.

If the owner cannot or will not supply any owner data, the public score is still useful. It is simply incomplete as a business diagnosis.

The three scorecards

Question Scorecard
Can prospective customers discover the business? Local Visibility
Does the Google Business Profile create trust and enable action? GBP Scorecard
Can the owned website convert that demand? Website Scorecard

A business can be visible and still fail. A strong profile can be invisible. A good website can be irrelevant if nobody discovers it. The family exists so the diagnosis does not blur those failures into one number.
